Effects of foreign students on education in Turkey

In this research, it is aimed to get the opinions of the administrators and teachers working in the vocational high schools in Çankırı city center on the impact of foreign students on education in Turkey. The research was conducted with the qualitative research method and a semi-structured interview form prepared by the researcher was used, and the data of the research were analyzed using the descriptive analysis method. When the literature is examined, it is seen that the studies are at primary and secondary school level and most of the studies are on the problems and solution suggestions of foreign students in adapting to education in Turkey. We could not find a study on the vocational high schools where foreign students receive the most education at high school level and their impact on the education of Turkish students. In this context, 3 administrators, 6 culture and 6 vocational course teachers working in vocational high schools in Çankırı city center in the 2021-2022 academic year were determined as the working group. As a result of the research, with regard to the fact that teachers and administrators receive education at high school level, generally in vocational high schools; It has been determined that there are many practical courses due to language inadequacy, they aim to acquire a profession rather than university education, it is thought that it is easier to pass the class, and they are directed to vocational high schools by those who decide on the placement. It has been concluded that the inclusion of those who are successful in Turkish education before being accepted to education in schools is important for both foreign students and Turkish students, the rights granted to foreign students during the university placement process are seen as positive discrimination and inclusive education should be provided to students and teachers.
