The relationship between social media use and active participatory learning in foreigners' Turkish language learning

With the advancement of technology, social media platforms have become significant tools supporting language learning processes. Method and Participants. Social media offers learners the opportunity to actively participate in the learning process by providing authentic language content. This study examines the impact of social media use on active participatory learning in the process of learning Turkish as a foreign language.The research is based on the question: "How does the use of social media affect active participatory learning in the process of learning Turkish as a foreign language?" Accordingly, the aim of the study is to reveal the effect of social media use on the active participatory learning of foreigners learning Turkish.The study was conducted using a relational survey model, and data were collected from 105 participants learning Turkish as a foreign language at Nevşehir Hacı Bektaş Veli University. The data were obtained through the Social Media Usage Scale and the Active Participatory Learning Scale. The reliability coefficient (Cronbach's Alpha) of the scales was calculated as 0.760.After testing the assumptions, correlation and, where appropriate, regression analyses were conducted. The findings revealed a positive and significant relationship between social media use and active participatory learning.The results of the study are expected to contribute to the identification of the impact of social media use on the learning process in teaching Turkish and to offer recommendations for the development of innovative, social media-based learning strategies. Furthermore, the study indicates that social media-based learning environments have the potential to support participatory learning.
