An investigation on the relationships between, alienation at work, workplace gossip, organizational cynicism, and organizational structure

Increasing organizational efficiency and employee motivation is linked to factors directly affecting employees, such as alienation, gossip, cynicism, and organizational structure. This research aims to explain the relationships between workplace gossip, work alienation, organizational cynicism and organizational structure. In this regard, the target is to initiate the creation of strong policies regarding the measures to be taken in workplaces. The research was conducted with 204 employees in a public institution. Quantitative method was used and data was obtained through an online survey form. The findings of the multiple linear regression analysis shows that organizational cynicism, workplace gossip and the high degree of centralization have a positive effect on alienation at work. It is observed that the relationships between these variables have not been analyzed together in the literature before. The study is important in this respect and contributes to the literature.
