Abstract (EN)

In this study, briquetting of rose oil processing wastes obtained from rose oil plants in the province of Isparta for utilization as solid fuel was aimed. In the experiments, a hydraulic press with maximum compression pressure of 350 MPa and cylindrical dies with height of 150 mm and inner diameter of 60 mm and 80 mm were used. The moisture content of the raw material used in the experiments was 83.34%. The samples were briquetted at room temperature without using a binder for 30 seconds under pressure of 35 MPa. Rose oil processing wastes briquetted coal powder is mixed in different proportions to 4 (100% waste rose oil, rose oil, waste of 75% - 25% coal dust, waste oil, rose by 50% - 50% of coal dust, waste oil, rose by 25% - 75% coal dust). Physical properties of briquettes such as briquette density, tumbler index, shatter index, water resistance, moisture content and equivalent humidity content were determined. Also, during burning of the briquettes in a traditional bucket type stove, flue gas emissions were measured by a flue gas analyzer. All briquettes were stored under ambient conditions for 7 days before testing.At the end of the study, 100 mm height and 60 mm diameter without central hole and 80 mm diameter with 20 mm central hole briquettes were produced. The density values of briquettes in wet basis varied between 1239-1274 kg/m3. At the end of the physical tests, the lowest values of shatter index, tumbler index equivalent humidity contenta and water resistance at the end of the first minute were 95.24%, 30.45%, 97.37% and 60.64%, respectively. The flue gas emissions were found below the limit values given in The Regulation on Air Pollution caused by Heating.
