Abstract (EN)
In this study, nannofossil biostratigraphy was investigated in the Samanlık and Dizilitaşlar formations outcropping in Kırıkkale and its surrounding area. 26 nannofossil genus and 36 nannofossil species were determined in sedimentary rock samples collected from 3 measured stratigraphic sections. With these nannofossil genus and species, UC20aTP and UC20bTP biozones were determined in the Maastrichtian, and NP1 and NP2 biozones in the Danian. In addition, the Cretaceous/Paleogene boundary is discontinuous and tectonic in the study area. The presence of reworked Cretaceous species together with Paleocene species, the low abundance of nannofossil species and the absence of fossils in some samples are consistent with the tectonic activity of the basin post-Maastrichtian.
