A study on the approaches of jewish, christian and muslim women to body privacy which is one of rights of patients

Every passing day, demands related with applying human rights are increasing. Right of privacy is a fundamental human right because it is also related with demands of human. Thinking that there is an area on which is not privacy demands in health care services is almost impossible. Some of the most important areas which are in background of privacy expectations of persons are law, sociology, psychology, culture and religion. Violation of privacy rights degrade the person and prevent efficiency of human rights. In health care services, there are three type of fundamental privacy right: information privacy, body privacy, and space privacy. Also, some other types such as psychological privacy, sociological privacy, and cognitive privacy are discussed but these types can be thought as subfields of three fundamental privacy rights. Entering privacy areas and sharing privacy information of persons without permission are not approved from the point of not only law but also medical ethics. In this research, body privacy in medicine was dealt with. Purpose of the research is to determine the factors behind privacy demands of persons who live in same legal, sociological, and cultural place but believe in different religions. In the research, multiple case study which is one of the quantitative research methods was used and datas of the research was obtained by the help of semi-structured interviews. Literature survey related with scope of the project has been realized and findings have been obtained after the fieldwork. Findings achieved from the fieldwork were subjected to content analysis by MAXQDA 2020 computer program. In the light of this study, it was detected that a group of participants think that religion is one of the factors in background of privacy. In addition, all of the participants think that culture affects privacy perception. As a result, it was arised that the participants think that culture is more dominant factor in formation of privacy perception. Also, nature varying from person to person of privacy was underlined. It was concluded that determining borders of cultural privacy is required.
