The importance of Jerusalem in the context of Messiah belief in Judaism

The purpose of this study is to explore the significance of Jerusalem in Judaism within the context of the Messianic belief/perception of the Savior. To this end, the study summarizes the historical process in Judaism, the importance of Jerusalem within this process, and the concept of the Savior-Messiah, revealing to illuminate how Messianic belief influenced the importance of Jerusalem. In this process, various literature is examined to reveal the time period and how Jerusalem gained importance in Judaism. Furthermore, the formation of Messianic belief in Judaism is examined from various sources, attempting to understand how it has gained importance in Judaism over time. Furthermore, it is envisioned to develop a more qualified understanding of how Messianic belief in Judaism, throughout its historical process, has deepened Jerusalem's existing significance not only in the past but also in the future, accelerating Jerusalem's position as a prominent place in the Jewish perception of the place as indispensable. Examining Messianic belief in Judaism is also important for exploring its impact on the perception of Jerusalem in this religion and fostering a distinct and comprehensive understanding. This study is also significant because it contributes to future studies by linking the importance of Jerusalem to the perception of Messianic belief. To ensure planned and systematic data collection, a literature review and source/document analysis method was employed in the study. This study found that there are varying interpretations of the importance of Jerusalem within the context of Messianic belief, and an attempt was made to address all interpretations in light of these findings. In understanding the place and importance of Jerusalem in Judaism, it is reached that examining the perception of Messianic belief is crucial for providing new insights into the subject.
