The examining of descriptive adjectives in the story book "Hüküm Gecesi" by Yakup Kadri Karaosmanoğlu

In this study, the descriptive adjectives in the story book "Hüküm Gecesi" by Yakup Kadri KARAOSMANOĞLU are examined in terms of structure and semantic features. In this research, the components which are used by the writer as descriptive adjectives with usage frequencies are tried to determine. It is tried to put forward the attribution of a meaning in which the words and the word phrases that are used as descriptive adjectives used in front of nouns and noun components. In the introductory section, the purpose and the method are given and the information about conceptual frame related to adjective phrases which are composed of descriptive adjectives is reported. In the investigation part which constitutes the essence of our study, the phrases that are composed of descriptive adjectives are examined under the title of "Adjective Phrases for Adjective and Noun Components". The phrases that are under this title are classified by "Descriptive Adjectives + Noun", "Descriptive Adjective + Nounal", "Adjectival + Noun", "Adjectival + Nounal", "Attribution + Noun" and "Attribution + Nounal". The relation of structure and semantic with the clock key and the contribution of work to exposition are put forward in the frame of integrity.
