A study on submission in Yakup Kadri Karaosmanoğlu's work titled Kiralık Konak

Yakup Kadri's Kiralık Konak is among the leading works of Turkish Literature. In this work, the reference topic, which is made in line with the "principle of least effort in language", has been addressed based on previously made classifications. The study consists of "Introduction", "Textual Linguistics, Cohesion and Reference", "Reference in the Novel Kiralık Konak" and "Conclusion" sections. The aim of this study is to identify the referential elements in Yakup Kadri's work, Kiralık Konak, and to contribute to the understanding of how referential elements function in Turkish in line with the data obtained. The findings obtained through the descriptive research method in the study were evaluated under the headings of endophoric reference (anaphora and cataphora) and exophora. In the conclusion section, a general evaluation was made as a result of the findings obtained under the relevant titles. In the work called Kiralık Konak, which was examined in the context of reference based on previous studies, it was determined that reference elements were used, endophoric references were made more frequently and anaphora were used more frequently than cataphora.
