Implementation of process improvements in local production techniques in a cosmetic company

Since the beginning of the 20th century, the manufacturing industry has been developing faster than before and lean manufacturing is one of the last modelling system in the fast growing manufacturing industry which in the most general sense, stands away from everything that does not add value to production. Lean production is based on the principle of zero error and zero stock on its basis. Everything the customer avoids to pay is a prodigality. All processes which do not add any value to the product can be avoided by creating a plain production culture. In this study, processes of separating value and prodigality from each other in a production company, reducing or eliminating the prodigalities are described. Every production lean has a part that will benefit from the lean production culture. As lean manufacturing technology is a very comprehensive system, it would be beneficiary for each factory to use this technique. In this study, there exists how the lean production approach has come out, the definition and purposes of the lean production system, also mentioning the lean manufacturing techniques and the materials causing the prodigalities in a company seperately. As mentioning that prodigality can be a big loss for companies, these losses are tried to be avoided. As companies face difficulties day by day because of competitive conditions, they have to take precautions to compete with others. As explained the most important of all is to avoid prodigality. To avoid prodigality, lean production techniques are used. A success has been achieved as a result of the company's applied methods to avoid prodigality. Beside avoiding prodigality, they also arranged company recordings. A code was given to each of raw materials, the packaging and the product to create a system in the company, aiming to prevent disorder with those changes. The labelling system has been created with the codes given. Each unit is evaluated as a group and adapted to the coding system. By using these codes on the labels, the workbenches, pallets and shelf alignment jobs became easier. In this study; the reader will find out how lean production has come out and progressed till now, purposes and the techniques in general. And also will recognize the achievement of the company throughout applying all these processes and improvements.
