Abstract (EN)

Fiber reinforced composites are widely preferred in primary and secondary structures in the aviation, energy, automotive industries due to their superior structural properties and light weight. In this study; Carbon fiber reinforced U edge notched composite boards were repaired with composite patches made of the same material using adhesive. Double sided composite patches were applied to the notched composite boards and repairs were made. The composite sheets repaired were tested under tensile load. At the end of the experiments, load-displacement graphs of each sample were obtained. In the study, the effect of the change of notch width and depth on the repair plate damage load and type was investigated. In the numerical study, progressive damage analysis was performed using the Hashin Damage Criterion. Sub-program codes were written in ANSYS program which uses finite element method for numerical analysis. As a result, numerical and experimental load-displacement graphs and damage types of the samples are presented comparatively. It has been observed that the increase in notch depth in the plate damage load is a more effective parameter compared to the width.
