Abstract (EN)

In this thesis, firstly 6-bromo-2-naphthyl-4-vinyl benzyl ether (NST) and 6-bromo-2-naphthyl methacrylate (NMA) monomers were prepared and characterized. The free radical copolymerization of this monomer was carried out in 1,4 dioxane solvent by using AIBN initiator at 65°C ±1 and were characterized by 1H NMR, 13C NMR and FTIR techniques. 1H-NMR analysis was used to determine the molar fractions in the copolymers. The monomer - reactivity ratios were calculated according to the general copolymerization equation using Kelen-Tüdos (K-T) and Finemann-Ross (F-R) linearization methods. The thermal behaviours of copolymers with various compositions were investigated by thermogravimetric analysis (TGA).
