Abstract (EN)
The variety of tools, resources, materials, technologies and methods available to perform the activity in a project provides alternative modes of implementation that can be assigned to individual activities in construction projects. Choosing among these available alternatives requires the decision of the project manager. The choice of the activity mode may have a different duration and different direct and indirect costs for that activity. In construction projects, time-cost trade-off problem (TCTP) analysis is often used to explore available alternative modes in order to find the optimal total project duration and/or total cost. In this study; an algorithm has been developed in a spreadsheet application which chooses the most suitable among the different construction alternatives of a project in time-cost trade-off problems to obtain optimum or near-optimal results of the Time Cost Trade-off problem in low calculation time. The application is written with the help of macro in the spreadsheet application. Instead of the algorithms that are difficult for contractors to implement the developed algorithm can be easily applied by contractors and project planners.
