Abstract (EN)

The developments in welding technology have caused the welded joining to become widespread in the industrial sector. Modelling and determining the behaviour of welded joints by making thermal analysis is an important step in the engineering design process. Finite element method is the most suitable solution to have an idea about the general structure and manufacturing properties. The material used in the study is S355J2+N and it is high strength structural steel. It is widely used in engineering and construction industries in general. It appears in many areas such as highway bridges, lifting equipment and port equipment. The thermal cycle applied by the welding process with the material S355J2+N changes the internal structure of this region and affects its microstructure. It is important to identify these problems in advance. It requires high cost and application time since it includes the process of error by trying to determine beforehand. For this reason, the finite element method provides benefits to the producers and it can foresee additional measures to prevent problems that may arise during the welding process. In this study, the use of the arc welding process, which is one of the joining methods widely used today, in the manufacture of the T profile used in steel structure manufacturing and the simulation of thermal analyzes using finite element analysis (FEA). In the study, information was given about the properties of S355J2+N material, unalloyed structural steel, and the internal structures of steels formed during cooling. The advantages and disadvantages of the gas welding method used are discussed. Heat transfer analysis by finite element method was introduced and previous literature studies were examined and studies on the analysis of multiplications in welded structures were discussed. Data obtained from Finite Element Analysis and experimental studies were compared. The effect of process parameters on a product after welding was studied. When the results were examined, it was determined that the results of the experimental study and the results of the finite element method were close to each other.
