A journal registered under number 0398 in the Yapı Kredi Sermet Çifter Research Library (Review-text)

This thesis is a textual analysis of a 45-folio collection of poems titled "Mecmua-i Eş'âr," registered under number 0398 in the Yapı Kredi Sermet Çifter Research Library. The collection consists of poems by poets from the 14th, 15th, 16th, and 17th centuries. The majority of the poems and poets belong to the 16th century. A total of 117 poets have been identified in the collection, and 277 poems are included. There is one poem each from the 14th and 15th centuries, 172 poems from 64 poets from the 16th century, 27 poems from 17 poets from the 17th century, and 45 poems from 34 poets whose century of existence is unknown. There are also 36 poems by poets whose author/pseudonym is unknown. The collection contains 147 ghazals, 5 qasidas, 1 masnavi, 1 musammat, 12 tahmis, 1 muhammes-i mutekerrir, 3 museddes, 1 tesdis, 12 quatrains, 2 nazms, and 92 independent couplets. There are numerous ghazals and couplets with the same refrain and imitation of a poem, including those with the refrains "edeb olmaz", "incinmez", "dinmez", "düşdi", "kabak", "geçmedi", "kagaz", and "kadeh". All the poems in the collection were examined, and it was found that 138 of them were not found in any other study. The author/pseudonym of 34 of the 137 poems could not be identified. The number of poets whose author/pseudonym is known is 66, and their total number of poems is 103. Of the 137 poems, 16 are in Persian, 6 in Arabic, and 115 in Turkish. Of these poems, 57 are ghazals, 59 are independent couplets, 12 are quatrains, 4 are tahmis, 2 are nazm, 1 is a mesnevi, and 1 is a muhammes. It has been observed that some of the couplets and verses in the poems in the anthology are not found in the poets' divans (collections of poems). The fact that many of the poems in the anthology are not included in existing studies, or that couplets/verses missing from existing studies are included in the anthology, is the greatest feature that makes the anthology important.
