Abstract (EN)

In this study, the water tower which is subjected to study is modeled considering the soil structure interaction. Subsoil interaction taken into account by placing the springs on the lateral displacement and rotational freedom to the node in the base level and spring stiffness is calculated according to the different soil and foundation embedment ratio. To ensure valid results comparison, a set of harmonic acceleration and ground acceleration time history is used for both linear and nonlinear time history analysis. In orrder to take into account the P Delta effects when perfroming nonlinear anlaysis, the moments generated by the mass in the node are given as the external load. P-Delta effects were investigated by comparing peak displacements, base shear force and base moments obtained from linear and nonlinear analyzes.
