Abstract (EN)

The aim of this research is to examine the attitudes of fifth grade students towards astronomy lessons and their impact on science learning motivations. The sample of the study consists of 300 fifth grade students in the province of Antalya coming to TUBITAK Natıonal Observatory in Akdeniz University. Since the research aims to determine the existence of coexistence between two or more variables, it is important to distinguish between the types of correlation from the scanning models and the simple scanning, as well as the individual attitudes towards Astronomy and the motivations for learning science in a given academic year. This is a research in the temporal screening (monitoring) model. In the study, Astronomy Attitude Scale Y developed by Türk (2015) and Science Learning Motivation Scale Tut developed by Dede and Yaman (2008) were used. Calculated data according to SPSS program. Independent groups t-test and one-way ANOVA test were used to analyze the scores obtained from their attitudes towards astronomy and science learning to determine whether they were meaningful. Pearson correlation test was used to compare the attitudes and motivations. At the end of the study, it can be said that the astronomy attitudes and the motivation of science learning in the 5th grade students in Antalya were positive and positive and they continued to develop.
