Abstract (EN)

In 2014, a Hong Kong based venture capital firm, active in the field of regenerative medicine, announced that it had appointed an algorithm named VITAL to its board of directors. The announcement accelerated the discussion in academia regarding the deployment of artificial intelligence systems in companies' board of directors. As a matter of fact, rapid developments in the field of artificial intelligence have shown their impact on business models, and just like VITAL, in practice, artificial intelligence systems have started playing an important role in the management of companies. In this regard, the present thesis mainly examines the impact of deployment of artificial intelligence in board of directors of joint stock companies as assisted artificial intelligence, augmented artificial intelligence and autonomous artificial intelligence on the board members' legal liability, within the scope of the commercial law.
