The impact of the activities which was prepeared to be based on costructivist approach in new science and technology teaching programme, in sixth grade students’ successes in the force and movement unit

This research aimed to examine the impact of the activities, which is being practisedfor the first time on sixth grade students in the term of 2006-2007 Education-Training yearand is based on constructivist approach ,on the student successes in The Force and MovementUnit.Research was started seconh half of the year of 2006 and was ended first half of theyear of 2007.Practice was performed by researcher?s in personal. 57 students ,who areattending Six Grade at Kemalpasa Primary School in Gümüshacıköy-AMASYA ,took part ofthe research.The first section of the research indicates the importance and aims of Science andTechnology Lesson.One of the classes was selected as a test group, the other one selected as a controlgroup in this research which was practiced semi-experimental pretest-posttest group design.Subjects was performed traditional lesson method on control group, was performed method ofPractices of New Science and Technology Lesson Based On Constructivist Approach onexperimental group by the same stuff.Before the beginning of the practice, both of the groups were superimposed successtest and pre-test which are accepted their validity and trusty by specialists on.For analysis of obtained datums, it was accounted T-test with the computerproggramme of SPSS (Statistical Package For Social Science)At the end of the research, the new curriculum was tested how much effected thesuccess of students in cognitive fields. About of obtained results, practices which were used innew curruculum based on constructivist approach more effective to increase students?academic success of Force and Movement Unit.Finally; programmes ,which are aimed to rise up the quality of Science andTechnology education, were accepted to much important supports practising and livinglearning. Before the prepared knowledges were served to students, it was seen how they wereeffective to increase their knowledge in cognitive field with their practices which wereperformed their observations, preknowledge and experiences.
