Abstract (EN)

SEM is arguably one of the most popular statistical methodologies available to quantitative social scientists. SEM is an active area of theoretical and applied statistical research. Recent developments have allowed traditionally different approaches to statistical modeling to be specified as special cases of structural equation modeling. SEM uses various types of models to depict relationships among observed variables, with the same basic goal of providing a quantitative test of theoretical model hypothesized by a researcher. The propose of this study to investigate the popular methods of estimation, ML, WLS and GLS. The goodness-of-fit indices, that are used for testing model fit, are studied. Finally, the data of 4th grade students questionnaire about mathematics in TIMSS 2011 is used for an application of LISREL.
