The effect of analog electronics course software prepared according to constructivist learning theory to academic achievement

This research has been carried out to determine the effect of computer aided teaching Analog Electronics Course software prepared according to constructivist learning theory to academic achievement.The research was conducted on Cukurova University, Adana Vocational School Department of Electronics Technology 1st Grade students during the spring semester of 2009-2010 educational year. Two classes were selected randomly, one experimental and one control group .The research was conducted on a total of 72 students from experimental and control groups. To collect data for the research, during the spring semester of 2009-2010 educational year, about sixteen hours' study has been done.Prior to application, academic achievement test, prepared related to the subject, was carried out on experimental and control groups. While the subject ?Diodes and Types of Diodes? was told to the experimental group students through computer-aided teaching method prepared with the help of Adobe Flash CS4 software program and based on constructivist teaching, the same subject was told to the control group students through traditional teaching method. When the application was over, posttest was carried out on groups.At the end of the study, according to the paired t-test results used in the analysis of data obtained during the study , between experimental and control group students, a significant difference favoring the experimental group students was observed.Keywords: Computer Aided Teaching, Constructivist Learning, Traditional Teaching, Teaching Software, Animation, Simulation
