Abstract (EN)
ABSTRACT Faults occured during the construction of a structure or later makes a behavior of column-to-beam connections seem to be a behavior of a semi-rigid connection. In the M.S. Thesis, the dynamic response of semi-rigid connected frames were investigated by using a computer programme. The connection flexibility was modelled with rotational and lateral rigid linear elastic springs. Behaviors of rigid and semi-rigid frames, having the same geometry and cross-sections, were compared. The reducing coefficients and the lateral rigidity values, representing the real behavior of frames, were calculated for each frame. Accounting for the dynamic properties of frames, the response characteristics of 13 different multi-story frames are compared with reference to their modal attributes. The study indicates that the connection flexibility not only tends to increase the vibration periods, especially in lower modes, but also causes vibration frequencies decrease.
