Abstract (EN)
This study was conducted to determine the effect of creative drama education program on nursing first year students' attitudes towards caring for dying patient. This study was designed in a quasi-experimental model with pretest-posttest control group. The study group consisted of 40 nursing first-year students studying at the Faculty of Health Sciences of BAIBU. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, Wilcoxon Signed Rank test and Mann-Whitney U. The researcher was divided into experimental (n = 20) and control (n = 20) groups by randomization and the data collection forms were applied to the students as pre-test, subject-related, plain expression and post-test after creative drama training. The mean pre-test FATCOD (97.90 ± 8.25) score of the students in the experimental group was lower than the students in the control group (101.55 ± 7.41). The difference between the pretest scores of the experimental and control groups was not statistically significant (U: 148.5; p> 0.05). The mean post-test FATCOD score of the students in the experimental group (112.45 ± 8.43) was higher than the students in the control group (105.35 ± 8.67) and the difference was statistically significant (U: 111,500; p <0.05). Compared with the expression technique, creative drama education was found to be a more effective method for the development of students' attitudes towards caring for the dying individual.
