Abstract (EN)

The purpose of this research is to evaluate the content of postgraduate theses related to creative drama in Türkiye between the years 2014-2023 using the document analysis method. The sample of the study consists of 276 postgraduate theses reached through criterion sampling method. Descriptive analysis method was used in data analysis. The research revealed that the highest number of studies was conducted in 2019, with more master's theses than doctoral ones. The majority of the studies were conducted at Ankara University, predominantly in the Turkish language, with no studies conducted in languages other than English. Creative drama's methodological dimension was more extensively addressed in the research, and it was most commonly preferred as a method in primary education. Among studies addressing the disciplinary dimension of creative drama, survey studies were most prevalent. Classrooms were the most preferred venues for creative drama sessions. Insufficient information was shared about creative drama instructors and participants. Most creative drama instructors received training primarily from Contemporary Drama Association. Research primarily focused on measuring the objectives specified in the natural sciences, social sciences, and fine arts. Quantitative methods were more frequently preferred over other methods. The majority of the studies involved middle school students. It was observed that there was a problem of terminological inconsistency in naming the processes, components, stages, and techniques of creative drama. Based on the findings of the study, further work on standardizing the terms of creative drama has been suggested.
