Creation and time connection (in the context of Abu'l-Berekât El-Bağdâdî)

The main purpose of this thesis is the research of Ebü-Berekât El-Bağdâdî' s [d. 547/1152] original thoughts that he developed about the schools of theology and philosophy that existed before him. In the background of these thoughts that makes it functional in terms of method; it is an independent analytical mind, and a deep critical mindset. It is necessary to position the scientific and philosophical status of this conscious method in terms of process and result. Ebu'l-Berekât analyzed and criticized the basic teachings of various intellectual schools with his sharp understanding. Thanks to this critical perspective Ebu'l-Berekât El-Bağdâdî gained a privileged position in the world of thought in the hijri sixth century, starting from the thoughts based on the universe and philosophy of nature, he has been able to develop creative results that can be regarded as a distinct from theological assumptions. The primary source used in this thesis is a biblical work consisting of three main sections: logic, nature and metaphysics, called Muteber; which was written by Ebu'l-Berekât El Bağdâdî, who came to the world as a Jew, and left the world as a Muslim. In the first part of this thesis preparation was made for the usage areas in the context of philosophy and theoretical systems by examining the content, origins, historical developments and different extents of the conceptual words of the object of creation. In the second part, the subject of creation and time has been discussed in relation to Ebu'l-Berekât by associating it with various deep-dimensional problems dealt with in the methods of theology and philosophy. In this regard, the problem of the fact that the universe has the predecessor or not, which takes the lead in the bifurcation of theology and philosophy, is also examined by taking into account the detailed separations within the theology and philosophy. Afterwards, universe formation as one of the eternal problems in the history of Islamic thought researches is taken in the consideration, the scientific values of the current connections of the universe researches with the theories put forward by physicists about the formation of the universe is revealed. Within the thesis, the most important subject, that is theoretically based and applied is the mutual criteria of different doctrines that are inevitable in order to get closer to the truth about the questionable subject. Therefore, factual experience, scientific control and mental criticism in the form of theoretical and philosophical thinking should be made permanent.
