Abstract (EN)
Our aim in this study was to evaluate retrospectively the perinatal outcomes of singleton pregnancies, grouped, according to the aetiology of infertility after in-vitro fertilization and spontaneous singleton pregnancies with any risk factor. 990 infertile patients monitored between the years 2003-2011 in Adana and Ankara Başkent University Hospitals Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology were divided into six sub-groups according to the aetiology of infertility; anovulation, poor ovarian reserve, male factor infertility, unexplained infertility, endometriosis, tubal factor. These sub-groups, were compared with the control group of 1046 people in terms of maternal age, body mass index, gestational age at birth, infant birth weight. Adverse perinatal outcomes of intrahepatic cholestasis of pregnancy, preterrn birth, preeclampsia, gestational diabetes, intrauterin growth resriction were evaluated for all pregnancies. According to the control group; Unexplained infertility and poor ovarian reserve groups were found significantly higher in average age. Anovulation group was significantly higher in body mass index. Unexplained infertility, poor ovarian reserve, male factor and anovulation groups were significantly lower in gestational age at birth. Unexplained infertility and poor ovarian reserve, male factor and anovulation groups were significantly lower in gestational age at birth. Infant birth weight was significantly lower in unexplained infertility, male factor infertility, and anovulation groups. Infertility patients compared with the control group, in terms of pregnancy complications; gestational diabetes, preeclampsia, intrauterine growth restriction, cholestasis, under 34 weeks preterm labor, preterm birth between 34 and 37 weeks and under 37 weeks statistically significant difference was found (p <0.05). v The incidence of intrauterine growth retardation; was significantly higher in unexplained infertility, male factor, tubal factor groups than the control group. The incidence of gestational diabetes; was higher in unexplained infertility, poor ovarian reserve, male factor, tubal factor and anovulation groups than the control group. The incidence of preeclampsia; was higher in unexplained infertility, male factor, tubal factor and anovulation groups than the control group. The incidence of cholestasis; was higher in unexplained infertility, poor ovarian reserve, tubal factor groups than the control group. The incidence of total preterm birth before 37 weeks; was higher in poor ovarian reserve, male factor, tubal factor and anovulation groups than the control group. As a result of this study, aetiology of infertility had effects on perinatal results in varying degrees. As a conclusion, different characteristics of infertility sub-groups could affect perinatal outcome with different mechanisms.
