Abstract (EN)
In this study, life satisfaction is examined in terms of expression of emotion, resilience perceived social support and some also (gender, age, number of siblings, daily social media usage, whether or not experienced a traumatic experience, whether or not expressed emotion if they have traumatic experience, if they expressed emotion how they expressed emotion). The sample of the present study included 767 students. Level of life satisfaction was measured by using "Life Satisfaction Scale" (Durak, Şenol-Durak and Gencoz (2010), data related to the expression of emotions were collected through "Emotional Expression Scale" (Kuzucu, 2011), data related to resilience were assessed by using "Resilience Scale" (Terzi, 2006) and the data related to perceived social support were collected by using "Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support" (Eker and Arkar, 1995). Other variables (gender, age, number of siblings, daily social media usage time, whether or not experienced a traumatic experience, whether or not expressed emotion if they have traumatic experience, if they expressed emotion how they expressed emotion) were assessed through "The Personal Information Questionnaire", developed by the author. In accordance with the hypothesis of the research, the research data were analyzed by using correlation analysis, regression analysis, one-way ANOVA, and t test. In addition, to find whether there is a statistically significant mediating effect of resilience and perceived social support in the relationship between expression emotions and life satisfaction is tested using the multiple serial model in accordance with the hypotheses of the study. As a result of the research, it was concluded that life satisfaction is statistically significant and positively related to the expression of emotions, resilience, perceived social support and age, statistically significant and negatively related to daily social media usage time and number of siblings. Additionally, in the multiple serial mediator model that was tested in the study, results showed that the resilience and perceived social support in the relationship between expression of emotions and life satisfaction has a multiple mediator effect. As a result of the research, life satisfaction showed that a significant difference according to gender. Accordingly, it was concluded that the level of life satisfaction of women is higher than men. In addition, life satisfaction of individuals with traumatic experiences was lower than those without traumatic experiences. On the other hand, whether or not expressing of emotion that fell at the end of the traumatic experience did not affect the level of life satisfaction. Finally, the level of life satisfaction was not statistically differentiated according to the way expression of emotion that fell at the end of the traumatic experience.
