Abstract (EN)

This study aimed to investigate the effects of recreational football on body composition, isokinetic muscle strength (IMS), static balance, functional movement screen (FMS) and recreational benefit (RB) levels in older men. The 57 (65.05 ± 2.5) sedentary elderly men who participated in the study were randomly divided into experimental (n= 28) and control groups (n= 29). The measurements were made according to the pretest-post-test paired control group pattern research technique. The data were collected with DEXA, isokinetic muscle dynamometer, SportKAT 2000, FMS and RB scale. The data were analyzed by two-way ANOVA and Paired Sample-t test. The results were examined by considering the p<0.05significance level. There was a statistically significant difference between group and time interaction in bone mineral density (p<.009). There was a statistically significant difference between the groups in knee peak torque flexion and extension, mean peak torque flexion and extension at 60°.sn-1 angular speed (p<.002, p<.011, p<.021, p<.014). Also, between times in peak power flexion and mean peak power flexion respectively (p<.035, p<.029).At 120°.sn-1 angular velocity, there was a statistically significant difference between the groups (p<.05) and between the groups in the variables of static equilibrium, between the experimental group FMS total scores and between the RB mean (p<.05, p<.05, p<0.1). For older men, recreational football can be said to have an effect on bone mineral density, IMS, balance, FHTT, RB and is a powerful exercise option. Keywords: Balance, Bone Mineral Density, Flow, Fonctional Movement, Peak Tork
