Abstract (EN)

Aim: The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between caregiver burden, compassion fatigue, and spiritual well-being in individuals provid-ing care to bedridden patients. Methods: This is a descriptive, cross-sectional study. The research was conducted between September 2024 and November 2025. Primary caregivers providing care to 156 patients registered with Muş Province Home Health and Care services were accepted as the population, and the study was completed with 130 individuals, constituting 83% of the population. Data were collected using the purposive sampling method. The "Sociodemographic Information Form," "Compassion Fatigue Scale," "Care Burden Scale," and "Spiritual Well-Being Scale" were used to collect data. Statistical analysis included independent samples t-test, Analysis of Variance, Pearson Correlation Analysis, Cronbach's α coefficient, Kurtosis, and Skewness coefficients. Results: As a result of the Regression Analysis applied to reveal the effects of Care Burden and Spiritual Well-being on Compassion Fatigue, it was determined that the relationship between Compassion Fatigue, Care Burden and Spiritual Well-being was significant (R=0.660, R2adjusted=0.426, F(2,127)=48.952; p=0.000). It was determined that the relationship between Spiritual Well-being and Compassion Fatigue was significant (R=0.618, R2adjusted=0.372, F(2,127)=39.194; p=0.000). It was determined that there was a significant relationship between Care Burden and Compassion Fatigue (R=0.452, R2adjusted=0.192, F(2,127)=16.292; p=0.000). Conclusion: Participants' scores on the Caregiver Burden Scale, Compassion Fatigue Scale, and Spiritual Well-Being Scale were found to be above average. A significant relationship was found between Compassion Fatigue, Caregiver Burden, and Spiritual Well-Being.
