Abstract (EN)
Determining in advance and decreasing of manufacturing time have great importance in terms of declining costs in business life, and also, increasing productivity. Work study has an approach to this problem, which is solving it by calculating standard time of manufacturing and increasing the efficiency of present methods. Manufacturing problems of furniture industry, being at the transition stage from small scale to big scale in Turkey, increases costs and it causes that affordability, profitability and productivity to decrease. In this study, application of work study in wooden furniture industry is determined as the subject. In the study, manufacturing time and quantity of a product are determined by investigating present method in the workplace. At the end of the study, total manufacturing time of the pieces of bedroom suite product line is determined as 281,72 minutes. Research data gathered will be available in determining the capacity of the facility. Order production facility, specified on line can be produced about 3 bedroom group per day.
