Abstract (EN)

Abstract: Investors prefer various investment tools to utilize their savings. Since investment instruments are sensitive to risk, investors prefer investment instruments based on their risk and return perceptions. It prefers investment instruments not only by individual investors but also by institutional investors. Therefore, investing requires knowledge and experience. Investors make their investment decisions according to the risk and return balance. Various financial assets such as stocks, bonds, bonds, mutual funds, foreign currency, time deposits, gold can be preferred by investors. The aim of the study is to determine the returns of the most preferred investment tools by investors. For this purpose, 10-year data for the period 2010-2019 are used. The variables used in the study are US dollar, Euro, gold, BIST 100 index and interest rate. The change in the prices of investment instruments has analyzed by the percentage method. Trend analysis has been made to better understand the returns. In the 10-year period, each investment instrument has a different return. Gold is the most profitable and it has earned 405%. After gold, it is the US dollar that earns the most with 297%. Another foreign currency, Euro, has earned its investors 213%. Risk-loving investors, on the other hand, have earned an average of 109% according to the BIST 100 index.
