Values education and vocabulary in Yavuz Bahadiroğlu's children stories

Literature is one of the factors that nourish the soul. Well-nourished soul brings good feelings to the individual. Because of the need to feed the soul, the works are written targeting every age group. Therefore, children's stories constitues a part of works that will appeal to the spirit of the child. Yavuz Bahadıroğlu has written novel, story, children's books, surveys, games, movie, including scenarios and idea artifacts. He also did research-review, interview and is an article writer. Historic novels written by him are frequently mentioned. In addition to his good work in this area, he does not forget the kids and writes books for children's literature. The author penned children's books, to nourish especially children's soul in mental and social dimensions. In contrast, we think that the works about him is not enough. In this study, the reason why we choose his children's stories is these works not being analysed from the perspective of children's literature before. The topic of our study is his children's stories and his twenty-two children stories are studied. Usually in the author's story; themes such as love, friendship, respect, solidarity, well-being, health and so on. are used and in the selection of topics, value judgments that will form concepts in children, have been taken into consideration. In his books, the author used plain, simple, clear and fluent language. In our work that we have done under the heading of Values Education and Vocabulary in Yavuz Bahadıroğlu's Children Stories, we explored what he wants to give to the children through his works and under the umbrella of the terms of value education and vocabulary the his works' contribution to children education is examined.
