Abstract (EN)
Pedestrian simulation applications are used in many projects today to test pedestrian movements. At the beginning of these projects; Facilities with high pedestrian density such as shopping malls, airports, and metro stations come to mind. In these facilities especially; It is known that there are problems in terms of pedestrian movements in locations where there are entry and exit points, turnstile areas, security checkpoints and physical obstacles. Pedestrian simulations are used to technically reveal these problems and develop alternatives to solve them. Although pedestrian simulations are partially similar to vehicle simulations, they differ in general. However, the process of creating pedestrian simulations is different from the process of creating vehicle simulations. Pedestrian movements may be more variable than vehicle movements. In a travel attraction, pedestrian activity may be more intense at certain times of the day than at other times. In this process, travel calculations should be made for all time periods of the day for the complex where pedestrian mobility will be modeled, and projects prepared for the complex in question should be obtained. In this study, pedestrian movements for a complex where pedestrian activity is expected to be particularly high during peak hours were modeled in a micro-simulation program to determine the process of creating a pedestrian simulation. During the modeling, the required projects for the relevant complex were transferred to the micro-simulation program, and all areas where pedestrian movements could occur were modeled in three dimensions. In the prepared simulation model, along with travel calculations throughout the day, details such as where each passenger movement would start and end, the route they would take, walking speed of pedestrians, speeds of escalators and moving walkways, and speeds of turnstile and security checkpoint crossings were determined.With this study, a simulation model for pedestrian access between Istanbul International Financial Center metro station and facilities such as business centers, shopping malls, and hotels was created. Potential issues that may arise at the metro station upon the commencement of services by institutions affiliated with the financial center were identified, and suggestions for addressing these issues were developed.
