I. Word War and Yemen Frontline according to Warfare Journals of Yemen Vaizat Luhye Region: I. Journal, p. 181, April 28 - 1331-September 8 - 1331

With reference to the journals belonging to the very first years of the First World War, between 28-04-1915 and 08-09-1915 and recorded by M. Galib Deniz who was the Commander of Vâizât-ı Luhye Region and then assigned to 40th Division Command in Yemen towards the end of the War, we aimed to draw attention to the various aspects of the war such as general situation of the War, deployment and subsistence of our troops, situation of our officers and troops, our operation plan, the attitude of local people towards our troops, thoughts and plans of our commander and troops. The Warfare Journals used as resource in this study were the ones recorded by the troops. In this study, which contains the transcription and is limited to the Yemen Warfare Journals recorded by Command of Vâizât-ı Luhye Region between 28-04-1915 and 08-09-1915, information about the subject was also set forth by reviewing the literature about 1st World War and Yemen Front Line. Taking into account the Journals recorded by the Command of Vaizat-ı Luhye Region between the dates 28-04-1915 and 08-09-1915 and the resources examined by the literature review, it appeared that the Parties of the War did not have a pitch battle in Yemen Front Line. It was observed that Italians and especially the English within allied powers were always in an endeavour of creating a chaotic atmosphere by deceiving the clan leaders in Yemen with various pollicitatio and presents, and also by endamaging the Ottoman Forces with hit-and run tactics by supporting the clans with guns and ammo. It was also revealed that although it was in a difficult situation in every aspects such as economy, ammo, supplies, subsistence, the number of personnel and communication tools and equipment, the Ottoman Empire was not defeated, on the contrary, it did not allow the English to march forward by besieging Aden, which had been an English base for years and invalidating all the efforts of İdrisi who aimed to march forward to the South, with the support of English, from the North.
