Abstract (EN)

With the development of technology, the world has been encountered with the problems such as depletion of the world's fossil fuel tank and global pollution. These problems have brought various problems such as climate change. There has been a shift to renewable energy resources to reduce the amount of greenhouse gas in atmosphere from fossil fuels and make the world more liveable. Solar energy is the fastest spread energy resource among renewable energy sources. In this thesis, a new PV-T system was designed and compared experimentally with PV system. The photovoltaic panel was cooled with the help of water flow in the channels formed on its front surface. In order to determine the increase in system efficiency of this process and to compare the two systems, simultaneous experiments were performed with PV panel with the same properties without cooling. Using the data obtained from the experiments, energy analysis of PV panel and photovoltaic-thermal (PV-T) system was performed and their efficiency was investigated. It was observed that the average surface temperature of the panel cooled by water from its front surface was 12 K lower than the non-cooled panel. As a result, it has been shown that the electrical energy obtained from the PV-T system is higher than the PV system under the same conditions.
