Abstract (EN)
Advancement in computer and electronic technology and the spread of internet use have led the intelligent and remote controlled safety systems to enter daily life. Biometric safety systems use biometric properties which do not require to carry any tool to recognize people. The developments of these systems are increasing every day with the advancements parallel to computer, network and electronic technologies. Digital watermarking techniques are widely used in the system design to increase the safety and performance level. The developed digital watermarking techniques came be combined to be used with the other techniques depending on the aim and place of use of the biometric system. In this thesis, a new digital watermarking method is proposed for the color images. The performance of the proposed method is compared with that of Discrete Cosine Transform, Discrete Wavelet Transform and Singular Value Decomposition which are widely used in digital watermarking. In the comparisons the PSNR, BER, NC rate, computing time and histograms are obtained and used as the criteria.
