Click aktivists of the new era, slacktivist: An exploratory research to define slacktivist typology

In recent years, as accepted in the literature of social movements, the activism of the present century cannot be considered apart from digital tools and digital fields. In this era, which can be called the new age of activism, everyone can participate in an action, support a social campaign and participate in a protest. With the enrichment and mobilization of existing tools, online signature campaigns, and similar examples continue to increase. All these practices define the concept of 'Slacktivism', which is thought to not lead to any change due to its uselessness, and this concept is included in the literature as one of the criticisms brought to online activism. What is overlooked at this point is the collective power of slactivists has the potential to have a significant presence. From this point of view, this study aims to describe the profiles of slacktivists who are the subjects of slacktivism concept in terms of their motivations, demographics, topics of interest and their perceptions of slaktivism. For this purpose, qualitative and quantitative methods will be used together and in-depth interviews will be conducted with slacktivists. The factors that will help to differentiate or classify the slacktivist characteristics were determined. Then, with the help of the questionnaire to be formed and with the findings obtained from the literature and in-depth interviews, slacktivist profiles their characteristics were described.
