Abstract (EN)
This study was carried out under the Amik Plain conditions in order to examine the agricultural and technological characteristics of 35 advanced cotton lines tolerant to Verticillium wilt disease developed with the project (214O086) supported by TÜBİTAK. Experimental study was carried out in 2019, with 3 control varieties (BA-440, Lima and May 455) with 6 replications and 35 advanced lines without replication according to the Augmented Trial Design. As a result of the study, it was determined that varieties used as controls was significantly different in terms of 100 seed weight, seedcotton yield, ginning turnout and fiber yield (P<0.01), for number of monopodial branch (P<0.05). When all the genotypes used as material were evaluated, it was determined that there was a statistically significant difference between the genotypes in all of the examined characteristics. As a result of the LSD test (5%), statistically, it was determined that genotypes were formed 22 different groups in terms of seedcotton yield; 20 different groups for fiber fineness; 19 different groups for ginning turnout, and seedcotton weight per boll; 17 different groups for 100 seed weight and spinning consistency index; 15 different groups for fiber length and fiber yellowness; 14 different groups for the number of boll; 13 different groups for plant height, fiber strength and short fiber ratio; 11 different groups for number of sympodial branch property; 10 different groups for fiber reflectance; 7 different groups for number of monopodial branch. These results show that there is a wide variation among the advanced cotton lines. This wide variation may enable the selection of suitable cotton lines in terms of desired characteristics for the variety registration studies planned in the future.
