Abstract (EN)
Fractal structures are crucial resources frequently invoked by humanity in comprehending the universe. The fractal theory put forth by Benoit Mandelbrot not only serves mathematics and geometry but also contributes to art and design, operating in harmony with Gestalt Theory and other design principles, enriching the aesthetic experience. Especially with the adoption of motion graphics and the embrace of generative art, the patterned approach nourishes contemporary art practices, shaping the aesthetic structure of a new perception of reality. At the intersection of art, design, and technology, particularly in producing procedural art, constantly evolving visual tools are diversifying through contemporary developments such as artificial intelligence. This research aims to explore how the world is perceived in patterns and understand how this pursuit relates to areas like fractals and computer-aided graphics, including the reproduction of reality. Through a literature review, it seeks to shed light on the role of patterns in aesthetic and artistic expression and the accompanying transformation of visual language. While examining the context between aesthetics and patterns, starting from teachings of different eras and geographies, both past and present interpretations of patterns in art and design are discussed. The research investigates how art represents natural reality, its stylization within this aesthetic structure, and the process of constructing a new reality. Through the application project, the process of reproducing scientific illustrations through artificial intelligence is experienced. Reference images are provided, and artificial intelligence is tasked with developing definitions based on them. Subsequently, new images are requested to be created through these definitions. The author compares scientific illustrations produced by digital techniques with those produced by artificial intelligence. Through these findings, the study examines how proportional growth models are handled by artificial intelligence, whether a distinctive style is developed, and to what extent the images are stylized by moving away from the scientific approach.
