Synthesis and application of new imidazole based monomers

Abstract (EN)

In this study, new monomers containing imidazole group were synthesized and various application studies were carried out in order to demonstrate the usability of the obtained monomers in various applications. It is aimed to increase the stability of the molecule by replacing the acidic hydrogen attached to the C2 carbon of the imidazole ring, by replacing the acidic hydrogen group, and to increase the activity of the general imidazole ring by performing derivatizations in etheric and esteric structures from this position. Initially compound determined imidazole derivatives 2-hydroxymethyl-1-methylimidazole (2-HM-1-MIm) and 2-hydroxymethyl-1-vinylimidazole (2-HM-1-VIm) compounds were synthesized. Derivatizations were made by etherification and esterification reactions carried out over nitrogen and oxygen, and allylic and acrylic groups were used for polymerization applications with quaternization reactions. In addition, diol structures planned as polycondensation monomers were synthesized. The structures of the synthesized monomers were elucidated by FT-IR, 1H NMR and 13C NMR methods, and their thermal behavior was determined by TGA methods. Conductivity, textile and polymerization applications of some monomers obtained were studied. Structural characterizations of polymers produced by photopolymerization, copolymerization, radical polymerization and polycondenization methods were carried out.
