Abstract (EN)

In this thesis, we have realized the D-π-A (Donor-π-Acceptor) molecular design of the new organic anot catalyst (E)-2-cyano-3-(5-(1-methyl-2-(naphthalen-1-yl)-1H-indol-3-yl)furan-2-yl)acrylic acid (h). For the anode electrocatalyst system, we synthesized the strong electron donor N-methylindole group and naphthalene group linked to different donor/acceptor group and targeted the synthesis of organic anot catalyst with cyanoacetic acid as the donor/acceptor group. By using Sonogashira coupling, iodocyclization reaction, Suzuki-Miyaura coupling and condensation reactions, the synthesis of new indole-cyanoacetic acid containing organic anot catalyst was carried out. The hydrazine electro-oxidation performance of the target compound (h) was investigated by electrochemical methods such as cyclic voltammetry (CV) and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EES) in 1 M KOH + 0.5 M N2H4 solution. The target compound (h) exhibits very high catalytic activity with 24.67 mA/cm2. In this thesis, a new indole-cyanoacetic acid based organic anot catalyst containing strong donor and acceptor groups for new clean energy applications and metal systems are envisaged to be environmentally friendly materials in hydrazine fuel cells.
