Abstract (EN)
This study aims to analyze the new capitalist work ethic in the context of individuals' occupations and autobiographies. The necessity of creating a new subject for the needs of the new working order has spread to many social areas and has created a new type of entrepreneurial individual who always wants to earn more. In addition to its positive features such as flexibility, self-reproduction and adaptability to new conditions, this type has negative features such as anxiety, depression and anxiety. On the other hand, although the transformations in Turkey's economic life have emerged in parallel with the developments experienced throughout the world, it has brought a different dimension to this transformation due to its own social structure. This situation causes differentiation in the new type in question. The sample of the study consists of individuals who are especially educated, who take part in professional working life with manager and expert positions. In this context, interviews were conducted with 18 white-collar employees working in very different business areas within the private sector. It is seen that the biographies of the participants who are highly educated, competitive, able to change more than one job or even sector, take risks, and adapt easily to differences, are common in an entrepreneurial self-type. As a result, the needs of capitalism have created a more flexible, more competitive, more ambitious type in the field of work. Although the emerging new type of capitalism is quite functional in terms of its own functioning, individuals have become anxious and worried in this typology in which they are compressed.
