Abstract (EN)
This research aims to solve the problem of how to get an interrogative, critical, dynamic perspective through unusual status messages in the social media-focused design process, with visual perception management and manipulative elements by the candidates of visual arts teachers studying at the faculty of education. This research, designed with design-based research, was carried out within the scope of Graphic Design Required Program Courses of the Department of Fine Arts Education of the Faculty of Education of Anadolu University in the fall and spring semester of the fall and spring semester of the 2020-2021 academic year. The research data was collected during the fall period of the 2020-2021 academic years during the course process of 14 weeks, and during the spring period during the course and exam process of 16 weeks. The participants of the research are senior students of the department of fine arts education who have taken Graphic Design V and Graphic Design VI courses, the lecturer, and the researcher. In the research, participant observation, focus group interviews, semi-structured interviews, student products, researcher and student diaries, video and audio recordings of lectures were used as qualitative data collection tools. The data of the research were analyzed by multiple and different analysis methods in the form of thematic analysis, descriptive analysis, product-based analysis due to the long-lasting and in-depth nature of the design-based research and has benefited from the program of NVivo12. Within the scope of the research findings, Visual–perceptual questioning of visual arts teacher candidates based on generating unusual situation messages focused on migration in new media, it was observed that an interrogative, critical, dynamic perspective has been gained.
