Analysis of new generation kitchen stores in terms of experience design

The main subject of the study is the experience design in the kitchen exhibitions in the new generation kitchen stores that have emerged with the changing personal user needs today. With the social, cultural and economic developments experienced in recent years, the understanding of merchandising has changed in order to meet the increasing expectations of the user efficiently, and user interaction with the designs constructed in the stores has become extremely important. The basis of this study is to provide user satisfaction with the experiences provided to the users in the kitchen exhibition islands organized in the new generation kitchen stores. In this study, the satisfaction provided by the design criteria and experience criteria in the exhibition island presentations in the designated kitchen store to the expectation of their own spatial use is questioned. The aim of this study is to provide user satisfaction by investigating the necessity of planning kitchen exhibition islands, in terms of kitchen design criteria in the new generation kitchen merchandising approach in order to meet personal expectations for changing user needs in recent years and what kind of experience design should be made in order to increase user interaction in store exhibition islands. To begin with, in order to examine the relationship between human, space and experience, the relationship between space and meaning in terms of the concept of space and user needs, and then the relationship between space and physical experience in terms of spatial perception and spatial experience, and human and space interaction are examined. Then, it has been examined how the experience designs in the space should be made in line with the user, user-oriented design and experience design in the space. After the industrial revolution, the kitchen spaces, the reflections of the changing user expectations on the new generation kitchen cabinet stores, the actions in the kitchen design criteria, space organization, functional and ergonomic design, flexible and changeable approaches in kitchen designs were examined, and the interactive experience design in the exhibition islands in the kitchen store was emphasized. The contribution of this experience to the user's kitchen-store interaction and thus to user satisfaction has been investigated. The presentation details of the kitchen exhibition islands of "Kayhan Yapı" were examined, the design criteria of exhibition islands and the experience design in exhibition islands were analyzed. An on-site study was conducted with 30 individuals who experienced the kitchen space designs organized in 2022 in the "Vanucci" branded kitchen exhibition islands at the "Kayhan Yapı" store and purchased kitchen cabinets from the store, liking the designs for their own kitchen spaces. The responses given by users to questions regarding the exhibition island design criteria and exhibition island experience design criteria were analyzed. The obtained findings in the field study were evaluated as comparative values and comparative graphics, and the validity of the hypotheses of the study was questioned. The data determined by the analysis of the study are explained in the conclusion and recommendations section.
