Abstract (EN)

The aim of this study is to synthesize and characterize the original Schiff bases and their metal complexes Ru(II), Pd(II) and to examine their catalytic activity properties. Results can be summarized in 5 headings; 1. Schiff base ligands (1a-d) were synthesized and their structures were illuminated by appropriate spectroscopic methods, 1H-NMR, 13C-NMR, FT-IR, UV-Vis. 2. Schiff base ligands (1a-d) were interacted with [RuCl2(p-cymene)]2 complex and the Ru(II) complexes of these ligands (2a-d) were synthesized and their structures were illuminated by appropriate spectroscopic methods. 3. Schiff base-Pd(II) complexes (3a-d) were synthesized by interacting Schiff base ligands (1a-d) with [PdCl2(CH3CN)2]2 complex and their structures were elucidated by appropriate spectroscopic methods. 4. The catalytic activity of synthesized Schiff base-Ru(II) complexes (2a-d) in hydrogen transfer reactions of ketones was investigated. 5. The catalytic activities of synthesized Schiff base-Pd(II) complexes (3a-d) in Mizoroki-Heck, Suzuki-Miyaura coupling reactions were investigated. As a result, Pd(II) complexes were found to be effective in C-C coupling reactions and Ru(II) complexes were effective in hydrogen transfer.
