The narrative techniques in new social science lesson books that are prepared for new educational programmes and their effect on academical success of the students

In this research it is tried to establish a process used with different kinds of narrative techniques and how they effect the academic success of the students by applying these techniques to the theme called, ?We are always with the Turkish woman? deal with in the unit ?The Adventure of democracy? in the social science subject of the 6 th grade at secondary school. The experimental research method was applied located in the town Çal of Denizli in the spring term of the 2006-2007 educational year. It was found that there wasn?t any significant difference between the groups, in other words; the group recorded an equal level. A written test which prepared with different narrative techniques was given to each groups. The test was applied to the students after the application of these written texts. The quantitative data obtained at the end of the studies were evaluated by using the computer program SPSS. At the end of the research in the new lesson books that prepared in accordance with the 2006/2007 educational term programme the narrative tecniques are examined, and meaningfull differences are found. At the end of the reseach, there have been some differences among the groups that use the texts about the narrative techniques. The results that found are supported by student success tests. What are the techniques used while writing a course book? How dose a topic / theme prepared with different narrative tecniques influence / effect on the students? Which technique used in a written text is more effective on the students? In this research, it is tried to present answers with advisable solutions to these questions. It is hoped that these techniques would be used in preparing new course books and would fill in an important gap in the literature.
