Abstract (EN)

The research aims at quality and low-cost design for a new type of refrigerator, which will be newly produced and exported abroad, using a customer-oriented approach and simultaneous engineering techniques. In addition, reducing the effort and time spent on design changes, as well as shortening cycle times is another goal. Gemba analyzes and simultaneous engineering techniques (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis-FMEA, Design for Assemblyability, Creative Problem Solving Theory-TRIZ) in the research were used to efficiently complete the new product development process that can meet customer demands and expectations from the first stage to the last stage. The problems, risks and contradictions that emerged at every stage of the product development process were combined with problem solving techniques and a revision was made in the design in line with creative principles. Thanks to simultaneous engineering practices, critical points were determined by making accurate evaluations in decision-making processes, and creative principles were taken into account in selecting suitable design alternatives. Thus, the effort, time and cost spent for design changes are kept at a low level.
