Abstract (EN)
Chlorine dioxide (ClO2) is one of the effective oxidants known for many years. In particular, the fact that sodium chlorite is produced under acidic conditions and the risks of explosion and poisoning during use make it mandatory to use it on site. In this sense, obtaining the formation of ClO2 catalytically under mild reaction conditions makes it possible to carry out especially the oxidation reactions efficiently under favorable conditions. In this context, very interesting catalytic oxidation reactions of ClO2 and NaClO2 have been encountered in the literature in recent years. In this thesis, new Schiff base ligands that can be used as chlorine dioxide catalysts were synthesized as chelating multi-dentate ligands using isatin and different amine compounds. Complexes of the ligands with transition metal salts in the oxidation stage and suitable for the purpose were prepared. In order to evaluate the catalytic efficiency of the obtained complexes, using SO-P-4R-LIQ. and ER-P-4BN-LIQ. commercial dyes different pH, catalyst/oxidant ratios are used. Disposal by oxidation and improvement of the color parameters of waste water were studied as a model. In the thesis study, as a first step, by reacting isatin and di-amino compounds, Schiff's base ligands were synthesized as chelating polydental ligands. The complexes of Fe (III), Co (III), Cu (II) and Pd (II) of these synthesized ligands were prepared in accordance with the purpose. The ligands prepared and the structure of their metal complexes were molecularly characterized by using FT-IR, 1H NMR, 13C NMR, mass spectrometry and elemental analysis methods. The activities of the prepared complexes as oxidation catalysts were investigated by using the selected dyes for the catalytic oxidation in the presence of ClO2 and NaClO2, and by using the oxidation kinetics of the dyes. Kinetic measurements were performed using the UV-Vis spectroscopic technique. It has been determined that the synthesized catalysts initiate the oxidative bleaching process rapidly by catalyzing sodium chlorite or chlorine dioxide at certain pH values and realizing the targeted bleaching process. It can be said that the color criteria of the dyestuffs used within the scope of the thesis have been improved at a disposable level. If chlorine dioxide is used as the bleaching agent for the said dyes, the complexes prepared can be recommended as catalysts for mildly acidic conditions. If chlorine dioxide is used as the bleaching agent for the said dyes, the complexes prepared can be recommended as catalysts for mildly acidic conditions.
