Abstract (EN)

Social movements, one of the most effective studies of sociology, maintain their existence in the historical scene and in this context, they are in a meaningful relationship with the phenomenon of change. The current movements that have occurred with these changes have been the subject of academic studies and have caused a theoretical effort. The New Theory of Social Movements, unlike the tradition, reveals a characteristic with qualitative differences. Anti-nuclear protests, on the other hand, have the same content characteristic of the theory. The anti-nuclear movements have had a global expression with the form of protest, the language of discourse, arguments and have formed a culture in this context. Nuclear culture often creates value in a catastrophic image and acquires a function to form public opinion with the goal of nuclear rejection. Works of art with negative references to the nuclear theme have become anti-nuclear instruments. When all these listed issues are taken into consideration in the context of the movements against the nuclear program of the Islamic Republic of Iran; It is seen that the effect of sociological characteristics on the subject is quite high. Discussions on the Iranian nuclear program are evaluated in a way that is based on cultural values and within the framework of the New Social Movements Theory.
