Abstract (EN)

The present study aims to reveal the emergence and development process, the methodological structure and problematic aspects of the literary works, claiming to be and being the history of the Turkish literature, written during the new Turkish literature field. To that end, a methodological framework was drawn in the first chapter in regards to the history, literature and literary history. In the second chapter, studies laying the foundation of literary historiography were presented and the development of literary historiography was elucidated. The literary histories included in the study were presented. In the third chapter, these literary histories were analyzed within the framework of identified problems. The relationship of the literary works with the previous works in the literary history, the author's aim of writing, the scientific references, the adjustment of the literary work, the author's approach to the literary works were paid attention in the analysis of the literary works; and the methodological structure of the works were revealed. The analysis revealed that the first scientific fraction in the literary historiography in the modern sense was realized by Mehmed Fuad Köprülü. Although the collections of biographies take the 13th century Anatolia as the starting point of the literary history, Köprülü starts the Turkish literary history from the Turkish existence in Central Asia in his works. This paradigm shift, shaping the Republican literary history as well as the Republic ideology, is closely associated with the idea of creating a national literature. It was found that the literary histories after the Köprülü followed him, and many of these works were prepared as the course books within the framework of the National Education Ministry High School curriculum. The second scientific fraction was associated with the Ondokuzuncu Asır Türk Edebiyatı (Nineteenth-century Turkish Literature) work of Ahmet Hamdi Tanpınar. This literary history, written with an eclectic method in which he used different methods and with an artistic perspective, obliges us to evaluate Tanpınar in a different position in the literary historiography. Henceforward, instead of literary historiography structured on the literary personalities and literary genres, literary history works, prepared by the writings of many authors, taking the literary genres as center, supporting the literary histories with images with reference to the Western examples, employing the Marxist aesthetics and New Historiography perspectives to the literary history also exist.
